Wind Waker Runi

Y'know-- looking at this now, it's almost as if Runi belongs in the Wind Waker universe. I mean, he just seems so natural like that. I really enjoyed this, because I LOVE the Wind Waker style. It was a lot harder to draw, though, than you might imagine. I can't recall how many times I ditched a sketch because it just wasn't going right, and then this one came through without a hitch. I suppose things just work that way sometimes.

Fun Fact: When Nintendo first released screenshots of the Wind Waker style, I flipped my lid, and cursed them for "ruining" Zelda. Like many fans, I was expecting a more realistic Zelda like the one they featured in the GameCube demo, so when this rolled out I was already convinced I wouldn't like it. Months later, I was at a local Toys'R'Us and they had a demo out, so I decided to humor myself and play it. I fell in love. Not only did I fall in love with the gameplay, but I fell in love with the cel-shading. Now Wind Waker is in my top three of LoZ games. Funny how that worked out. I was never skeptical about a Zelda game after that...even when Twilight Princess first featured the wolf form and I thought it was the dumbest idea ever (I still hate it, by the way).
